Frequently Asked Questions

Booking

|| How do I book with you? Can I DM/email you? Are your books open? What does it mean to open/close your books?

I currently book 3-4 months at a time throughout the year via online form. I will always post in advance of a new booking opportunities. In between booking periods I am not booking new appointments, and will direct folks to wait for the next online form to be posted.

You can follow my instagram or join my email list to be kept updated :)

You can message me, but I will almost always direct you to contact All My Heart!

Proposal Form

|| What do I include in my tattoo proposal form? What kind of projects are you looking to do?

Your form submission is your way to provide a clear idea of what you want tattooed. Please include photo reference if possible, style, location, and what are the important pillars of your concept, and what is open for creative freedom. These can be flexible, and I am always able to make changes leading up to the appointment, and never bothered to adjust things on the day of if needed.

You will not see a design until the appointment.

The proposal form is to inform me what to draw for our appointment, so be as clear as possible.

Once the design has been accepted, I provide an estimated quote for the time and cost involved. We then find a time in the calendar that works for us both, and you leave an $100 nonrefundable deposit to lock in your date, which is later applied towards the cost of the tattoo.

My current rate is ~$200/hr, $150 minimum (anything 30min or less)

I am always interested in floral, botanical, nature themes that fit the body! I love getting to include a darker, macabre twist, the gothic side of nature. I am an illustrator by nature, I just like to draw, don’t feel boxed in!

Appointment

||What do I bring to my appointment? How should I prepare? Will I see my design ahead of time? Cash or Card?

Comfort is key! Think ahead of your appointment, and wear something appropriate to allow access to the locations. (i.e., don’t wear jeans if we’re tattooing your thigh. Bring shorts!) Soft clothing that can be pulled aside, or adjusted as needed. We are able to provide a privacy screen, and you can always let me know what your comfort level is. I’ve been to art school & seen my share of odds and ends, it’s more about you than me :)

Make sure you are well fed and hydrated! We often advise not to drink heavily before (thins your blood, causing more bleeding during tattoo, causing ink to be pushed out at a faster rate), and I’ll tell you from experience, being hungover while tattooed is not something you want to try. Being hungry might be worse, I’m not sure. Just be smarter than me.

If you are sitting for more than 2 hours you may want to bring some kind of snack or drink with electrolytes/water. Your adrenaline/blood sugar tends to take a hit, and something like a soda generally helps as well. Treat yo’self.

You will not see your design before the appointment.

Sorry, you won’t. I build at least an extra hour into your appointment, based on the information provided in the consultation, to make adjustments, changes, find the right size, place the stencil, re-place the stencil, adjust the stencil with a marker to fit your body/ other tattoos, place the stencil again…..you get the idea. We spend time together collaborating to finalize the design. Worst case scenario: we reschedule and allow me more time to draw.

I do my best to present your design as a starting point, and changes will not hurt my feelings. It’s still your body.

After the tattoo I provide aftercare instructions and you check out!

Cash is awesome, card is perfectly fine! If you want to pay card, and tip in cash that’s cool! If you want to tip via venmo/cashapp/zelle, I’m not complaining! Tipping is pretty standard, always appreciated, never required.

Wills and Won’ts

|| Do you do lettering? Cover-ups? Scar cover-up? Placements? Numbing cream?

I do lettering/handwriting/text often! If you can provide a font, or sense of style for the font, I can tattoo it, or small amounts of text in a banner, etc. I am not a hand-letter/calligraphy artist, I will likely turn a typographic based project down. Just not my strength.

As a blanket answer, I do not do cover-ups. You will occasionally see me incorporate a small cover up into a large project, this does not mean I will take yours on. You can feel free to ask, but do not be surprised if I decline. This is more for your sake than mine, I do not yet have the experience/ years of knowledge I feel I need to successfully guarantee these kinds of projects.

I do not cover scars, I will consider tattooing over scars if they are sufficiently aged/healed. Tattooing over scar tissue is significantly different skin, painful, and often emotional. Some tattooers train and research to do this specifically, I have not done this yet.

Numbing cream! I am not in favor, but i will not oppose to you using it, but have no actual personal experience with using it. I have some clients who have performed their own research about what brand they may want to purchase, and I will say from my own observation, some work better than others, and all of them have worn off before the end of the tattoo. For larger projects, I have a bactine spray that contains a small amount of lidocaine, it helps to control swelling and provides some relief, but only works once the skin is broken.
